Summer League Registration (Now until July 1).

Leagues run from approximately July 6-August 28

PLEASE READ

  • Apex Location Leagues Listed Below! We also offer a Summer league in Fuquay-Varina, which is already in progress. Registration for a Fall season there will be announced by July 1st.
  • Our normal season set-up involves 6 weeks of regular season play over a 6 or 7 week (if bye weeks are in effect) period followed by a mini-tournament week (weather permitting). Each team plays against several opponents each week on their league’s designated day/night. Lots of play.
  • Bye week: During the more popular travel/vacation times of the year we often schedule a bye week for each team. If you have a preference, please specify in your Comments field. We will confirm whether a particular league will have a bye week for each team about 1-2 weeks before the season starts.
  • Prices listed below are the total  ‘team’ registration fee.
  • Coed 3s/4s (Triples/Quads) leagues are played on the ‘smaller’ court configuration used for 2s as well unless otherwise stated. We have found that to best accommodate the potential mix of 3s and 4s teams in a league this has worked well for most. Three or four person teams are permitted with at least 1 woman on the court at all times.
  • Sign-up early to secure a spot! Caps may change based on registration trends.
  • Clinics/Refresher Sessions: During the registration period of the upcoming Adult league season, we try to offer one or more clinic events for those looking to gain some pointers and/or sharpen their beach volleyball game in an instructor-led environment. The instruction will be catered to the needs/desires of those attending using the principles of 2 person beach volleyball play. Contact Jenny for details.
  • We have had a couple incidents reported in the past where people simply see the page refresh after hitting the submit button below. This does NOT mean the submission worked. If you don’t get a message saying the ‘Registration was Successful’ then send an email to Mark with your team’s registration info and he will get you added manually. Sorry for the inconvenience.

If a division is targeted for a specific level of play it will be listed as such: Competitive – For highly proficient play and seeking the highest competition level for league play. Typically AA and lower Open level tournament level players, Semi-competitive – For proficient play, middle-of-the-road type players. Typically A tournament level players. Recreational – For newer and/or social players. For everyone to get the most out of the experience, please be realistic about your level of play.

If a league is no longer showing below to register, it’s full but email Mark about getting on a wait-list in the event something opens up. With enough interest, we may consider Friday evening as an overflow night so specify whether that is a possibility when sending an inquiry.

  • Sunday late afternoons – approx 4:30-6:45PM 
    • Coed 2s – Competitive – Capping at 10 teams (Teams that have finished towards the bottom of this division in the past should consider the Semi-Competitive/Recreational division instead)
    • Coed 2s – Semi-Competitive/Recreational – Capping at 14 teams
  • Monday evenings – approx 7:15-9:30PM
    • Women 2s – Competitive – Capping at 12 teams (Teams that have finished towards the bottom of this division in the past should consider the Semi-Competitive divisions on Tues and Thurs) – FULL
    • Men 2s – Competitive – Capping at 12 teams (Teams that have finished towards the bottom of this division in the past should consider the Semi-Competitive division on Tues) – FULL
  • Tuesday evenings – approx 7:15-9:30PM
    • Women 2s – Semi-Competitive – Capping at 7 teams (Note: There is another offering on Thurs) – FULL
    • Men 2s – Semi-Competitive – Capping at 10 teams – FULL
    • Coed Triples/Quads – Competitive – Capping at 7 teams – FULL
  • Wednesday evenings – approx 7:15-9:30PM 
    • Coed 2s – Competitive – Capping at 14 teams (Teams finishing in the bottom half of a Competitive division in the past should consider the Semi-Competitive division) – FULL
    • Coed 2s – Semi-Competitive – Capping at 10 teams – FULL
  • Thursday evenings – approx 7:15-9:30PM
      • Coed Triples/Quads – Competitive/Semi-Competitive – Capping at 7 teams – FULL
    • Coed 2s – Competitive/Semi-Competitive – Capping at 10 teams – FULL
    • Women 2s – Competitive/Semi-Competitive – Capping at 7 teams – FULL

Leagues are open to players 16 years old or older. Younger players can participate on a team at the discretion of the adult team captain and preferably playing with an adult. Two females under the age of 18 are NOT permitted to play as a team in a coed 2s or men’s 2s division.

During registration below, teams should provide desired level of play and competition format preferences, which include the following:

  • Match play (best 2 out of 3 sets – 2 matches played each week) – Pros: Conventional format of play. Cons: Due to variability of playing 2 or 3 sets, wait-times between matches may vary considerably and subsequent matches can get delayed. If an opponent forfeits, teams are left playing only 1 match for the week.
  • 2 sets to 21 (total of 4 sets played each week) – Each set counts as a win or loss for season. Pros: Minimizes wait time potentially between courts. Con: If an opponent forfeits, teams are left playing only 2 sets for the week sometimes.
  • 1 set to 21 (total of 4-6 sets played each week) – Pros: Offers opportunity to play multiple opponents each week and doesn’t cause long waits or huge reduction in sets played if an opponent forfeits. (Personally our favorite.. especially with 2v2 leagues)

Late Registration Fees begin June 11: All registration fees for KOB/QOB leagues go up $5, 2v2 (2s) leagues go up by $10 and for Triples/Quads leagues go up by $20. Leagues often times do fill-up so sign-up sooner vs. later to secure a spot.
