Southern Sand Volleyball

Join us for the 7th annual Serve the Homeless event to be held this year at Southern Sand’s 10 court complex in Apex. Plus raffle opportunity to WIN A CRUISE! (see below for more details)

Event Details:

  • Charity volleyball tournament to support Families Together (FT) whose mission is moving Wake County families from homelessness to stable homes through mentoring, housing support and connecting to community resources
  •  Saturday, April 22
    • Check-in: 8:00-8:45AM
      • T-shirts will be handed out at a first-come, first-serve basis, so check-in early to ensure you get your requested shirt size
    • Welcome, Group photo, Captain’s Meeting
    • Immediately following: Play
  • Divisions:
    • Coed 4 v 4 – Minimum of 1 woman per team. 3 player teams are OK
      • Adult Competitive and Recreational Divisions.
      • Juniors Division. Juniors will register as one group, but will be divided on tournament day based on registrations.
    • 2 v 2
      • Men’s/Women’s – Competitive and Recreational Divisions. Note: Since this event doesn’t require VolleyAmerica membership, we are not categorizing divisions like those used to playing a VolleyAmerica sanctioned event may be used to with no points involved. The focus here is on the charity fundraising and just playing volleyball. Open to players 14 and up. 
      • Boys – Subject to interest. If there are not enough teams to have own division, this division will be merged in with the Men’s 2s Recreational division.
    • Tournament directors reserve the right to move teams as needed to other divisions (Please!  No sandbagging!)
  • Format: Pool play followed by  playoffs
  • Prizes:
    • ENTER A RAFFLE TO WIN A CRUISE FOR 2! 5-days/4 nights to Mexico, the Bahamas, or the Western Caribbean. Click on the above link to purchase tickets.
    • Trophies to the winner of each division and to the top team and individual fundraisers

  • Cost: $100 per team ($25 per player) until April 10th. After April 10th, $120 per team ($30 per player).  If space is available, $140 per team ($35 per person) day-of.

Registration ends at 8:59PM on April 21st or when space fills up (whichever comes first).
